Julie Chen Moonves, who was among the first hosts and moderators on The Talk (a Daytime Emmy Award winning talk show), returned in August for the 22nd episode. Then it was when she started writing that her true passion began to emerge. The fact that she hosted an amazing entertainment talk show has earned her a second Emmy. The Talk examines contemporary events using the perspective of five hostesses. Chen Moonves hosted CBS News the early morning news show The Early Show for a decade. Before that, Chen Moonves was the CBS Morning News' anchor as well as the anchor for news for The Early Show. Following the 9/11 attacks, she was sent to Cairo and located the main hijacker's father for a riveting and fascinating interview. Chen Moonves has interviewed newsmakers including the former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, the Queen Rania of Jordan, the former defense secretary William Cohen, and celebrities such as Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Tom Hanks, Mary J. Before joining The Early Show he was an CBS owned station reporter in New York City, WCBS. Prior to that, she worked as a reporter at ABC NewsOne, the network's affiliated news service (1992-1995) and a desk-assistant within ABC News' Los Angeles Bureau (1990-1991), all while she was finishing her final year in college from the University of Southern California. As a desk assistant, she worked in ABC News' Nightline program alongside Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel is one of her journalists heroes. Chen Moonves worked with Koppel in the Columbia du-Pont-nominated premiertime show, Anatomy of a Riot that examined the 1992 Los Angeles riots.
